72 pounds of cocaine confiscated at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport

Three men are in custody after authorities find 72-pounds of cocaine a plane in Baton Rouge. State Police Trooper Jared Sandifer says the twin-engine plane departed from Texas, stopped in Baton Rouge to re-fuel, when they received a tip from federal authorities.


"It wasn't totally random, we were closely working with Homeland Security Investigation and US Customs and Border Protection, which led us to this aircraft," Sandifer said.
 
Sandifer says four people were on the plane, which was enroute to Atlanta, and three of them were charged with poessesion with intent to distribute cocaine. 
 
They've been identified as 55-year-old Vincenzo Salzano, 32-year-old Armondo Salzano and 32-year-old Mohammad Nekooie.
