Authorities say the man who murdered a woman whose body was found in Pineville last week, is also the person that allegedly killed two people, who were burned in a ditch on Old Boyce Highway that same morning. Rapides Sheriff William Hilton says Matthew Sonnier now faces three counts of first-degree murder.

"I don't want to go into any detail about evidence and how much evidence we have and get into the facts of the case that might hinder the DA with its prosecution of this case because it's a very, very serious case."

The bodies in the ditch have been identified as Kendrick Horn and Jeremy Norris, both men were in Alexandria. Hilton says they also arrested Sonnier’s sister, Ebony Sonnier and she’s facing charges that could result in the death penalty for the murder of the two men found in the burned out ditch.

"They're both being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of carrying a fire arm by a convicted felon, two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of criminal conspiracy."

Pineville Police have upgraded the murder charge of Matthew Sonnier to first-degree murder and his sister is also facing the same charge for the stabbing death of Latish White. Pineville Police Chief Don Weatherford,

"The message to our community is our law enforcement community is a solid group, we work together on things like this and we want to make our community a safe place to live."
