In a winner's bracket contest in the Lafayette Regional, UL Lafayette scored 3 runs in the first inning and went on to a 10-3 win over the Wildcats.
Stefan Trosclair drove in the first run and the last run of the game. The senior from Sulphur also homered for the 8th time this season.
Kyle Clement scored three times, while lead-off man Brian Mills drove in two runs and designated hitter Brenn Conrad also had 2 RBI.
Sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger benefited from all of the offense. The former Barbe standout threw five innings and allowed three runs for the win.
Jevin Huval tossed four shutout innings out of the bullpen for the save.
UL Lafayette will play Arizona at 1 PM on Monday. The Cajuns need just one win to reach the Super Regionals. Cajuns will have to be defeated twice to be eliminated.
