Tiger Rag: Real test for Coach O still to come following LSU loss to Alabama

LSU was no match for Alabama's top ranked defense on Saturday night, but is Tiger head coach Ed Orgeron shouldering the blame for the 10-0 shutout? Tiger Rag Associate Editor James Moran says there is only so much Coach O could do against the superior team with someone else's offense.

He says the true test for Orgeron lies ahead.

"If he can rebound the team and find a way to win out," said Moran. "There are three SEC games in the span of about 17 days, that's tough but all three games are winnable."

Moran says if LSU lets this loss fester and falls short against Arkansas, Florida and Texas A&M, it would become more clear that Orgeron is not the best candidate for the full time gig. He says anyone is received well by the Purple and Gold nation when the team is winning.

"Now that they've lost, how they get through that adversity will be a lot more telling as to whether or not he's got a shot at keeping this job long term," said Moran.
