Governor John Bel Edwards’ monthly one-hour radio show begins today on the Louisiana Radio Network. The show will air on 15 radio stations, and it will allow the governor to speak with Louisianans one on one to address their concerns in the state.
“I’ll take your questions and your concerns about your community and our state. There are many problems facing Louisiana, but there are also many solutions. So let’s talk and work together,” Edwards said.
Edwards’ press secretary, Shauna Sanford, says Louisianans are well aware of the pressing problems facing the state. She says this show allows them to address those issues.
“This is going to be an opportunity for folks to speak directly with the governor to ask him the kinds of questions that they otherwise might not have the opportunity to do,” Sanford said.
After today, the show will air on the third Wednesday of every month. Sanford says Edwards wants to hear some ideas from the people about how to solve the state’s problems.
“There are many solutions out there, and he wants to hear them and put them on the table. I know there are lots of folks all across the state who are very engaged in what is going on, and they have ideas. They have great ideas,” Sanford said.
“Ask the Governor” will also stream online on this website, and at gov.louisiana.gov. The toll free number to call is 1-877-217-5757.
