A domestic dispute in Lake Charles turned violent yesterday and resulted in the death of a 43-year-old man. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Kim Myers says 27-year- old Johnathan Guillory got into an argument with his girlfriend's stepfather Felton Boutte and then shot him.
"I don't know what sparked the shooting. I know it was a verbal altercation to begin with and it turned into a physical altercation," Myers says.
Myers says the initial fight was broken up by a family member but Guillory retrieved a gun from the back of the trailer and shot Boutte.
"Guillory, who lives at the mobile home, went into a back room and retrieved a gun and came back into the living room and shot Mr. Boutte, where he was pronounced dead at the scene," Myers says.
Myers says Guillory fled the scene but was caught by police shortly after. His bond is set at 500,000 dollars and has been charged with second degree murder.
"He actually fled the scene after the shooting but the deputies arrived pretty quickly and were able to apprehend him in the trailer park," Myers says.
