The LSU Tigers did a lot of things well against Alabama on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, but the Bayou Bengals remain deficient at one position and that's quarterback. Tigers QB Danny Etling had a chance to make some throws down the field, but he did not and LSU lost to the Crimson Tide 24-10.
Etling was 12 of 26 for 137 yards and one interception.
In years past, LSU tried to run the ball to beat Alabama. But this time around the Tigers took their shots down the field and there were several times DJ Chark was open, but Etling couldn't connect with him.
Meanwhile, Alabama QB Jalen Hurts was 11 of 24 for 183 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. Tide WR Calvin Ridley had 3 catches for 61 yards.
The Tigers out gained Alabama 306-299 and LSU's defense forced them to punt 8 times.
LSU also out rushed Bama 151-116. Darrel Williams had 83 yards on seven carries and one touchdown. His 54 yard run in the 3rd quarter set up LSU's lone touchdown of the night.
Derrius Guice had 19 carries for 71 yards and caught 5 passes for 29 yards.
On defense, Devin White had 9 total tackles. He shared a sack with Arden Key, who had 8 total tackles. Corey Thompson and Christian LaCouture also had a sack.
