Michelle Southern reporting.
An LSU football player was involved in a bar fight early Tuesday in which he was stabbed multiple times, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department. School officials identify the victim as tight end Dillon Gordon. BRPD's Cpl. Don Coppola says they responded to a physical altercation Reggie's around 12:45 this morning.
"During this altercation, a 22-year-old male victim had been stabbed multiple times," said Coppola.
Miles said the injuries to Dillon were not life-threatening and from all indications, he will make a full recovery. Coppola says the victim suffered multiple lacerations and cuts. He says the incident remains under investigation.
"Detectives are working to determine any suspects involved with this so an arrest can be made," said Coppola.
During a news conference Tuesday, Miles was asked about players going to bars and he said it's being cut off.
"The reason you go out is because you want social interaction," said Miles. "Social interaction can take place at home, at class, it can take place at a number of places. You don't have to go to a fight night club."
Gordon appeared in four games in 2015 during an injury riddled season and caught one pass. Because of his injuries on the football field, he’s seeking another year of eligibility from the NCAA. Police are still looking for the man who injured Gordon.
