The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office says they've arrested the boyfriend of a woman who was found dead of two gunshot wounds in 2012. Spokeswoman Kim Myers says in March of last year they were called out to the home of 53-year-old Leo Thibodeaux of DeQuincy regarding a woman who was found unresponsive in her bedroom.
"She was pronounced dead at the scene of an apparent gunshot wound. We took a statement from Mr. Thibodeaux who was there when this happened and he indicated that his girlfriend committed suicide in his presence," Myers said.
The girlfriend is 37-year-old Tony Frabbiele. Myers says a year long investigation resulted in a different conclusion, "With the help of the coroners office and crime scene reconstruction examiners, they concluded this was a homicide."
Myers says the crime scene was reconstructed and an autopsy revealed more than a year later, that there was no possible way Frabbiele could have shot herself twice.
Thibodeaux was booked with 2nd degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond.
