Governor John Bel Edwards has completed another "Ask the Governor" radio show. The call-in show is designed for the citizens of Louisiana to speak with the Governor regarding topics they find important. The program is broadcast at 2pm on the third Wednesday of each month.

New Flying Tiger beer to benefit ULM students through scholarships

Flying Tiger Brewery will donate a portion of their latest brew, War Hawk, to scholarships through the University of Louisiana Monroe Foundation. Flying Tiger Co-owner Robert Brewer says it’s important for a local brewery to be active in their community.

Champion Home Builders to open manufactured housing facility in Leesville

Champion Home Builders announces a manufactured housing production facility will be established in the Vernon Parish town of Leesville. Mayor Rick Allen says this project will create 200 direct jobs and 218 indirect jobs.

Baton Rouge Man Arrested After Silcone Injections Kills One

Lafayette police say they have arrested a Baton Rouge man in connection with the death of a woman injected with silicone. 23-year-old Brionna Guillory died after allegedly receiving the injections from 33-year-old Vincent Jamal Boles. Lafayette Police Corporal Karl Ratcliff says the silicone traveled throughout Guillory’s body.

Iberville Parish officials to vote on proposal to ban burning or defacing American flag

Iberville Parish leaders will discuss a proposed law on October 17th that would prevent an individual from damaging or defacing the nation’s or the state’s flag. Councilman Matthew Jewell says last Veterans Day, a group of people ripped down and burned an American flag.

UL System hopes to graduate 150,000 more students by 2025

The University of Louisiana System has set a goal to graduate 150,000 students by 2025. U-L System President Jim Henderson says if this can be accomplished by the nine universities in the system, these students will be the most educated generation in Louisiana history.

Another person has been fatally shot in East Feliciana Parish

A well-known member of the Boy Scouts was killed Monday in a drive-by shooting in Clinton. East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeffery Travis says the victim has been identified as 48-year-old Brad DeFrancheschi. He says three other middle aged white men have been killed since July in a similar manner and they are receiving assistance from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office to solve these murders.
