LSU will rename multiple streets on campus, including Raphael Semmes Road, which was named after a Confederate officer. LSU Mass Communication professor Bob Mann says earlier this year, his students began looking at names of streets and buildings they believed should be changed.

A former staffer for Democrats John Breaux and Kathleen Blanco says Mary Landrieu needs to change her message in order to have a chance at victory on December sixth. Bob Mann, who is currently an LSU Mass Communications Professor, says Landrieu's message of clout and seniority in the US Senate doesn't resonate with voters.

Longtime political writer John Maginnis passes away

The dean of political journalism in Louisiana has passed away. John Maginnis, publisher of lapolitics.com, died Sunday at the age of 66. Maginnis wrote political books, a syndicated column and published a newsletter that provided an inside look at state government. LSU mass communications professor Bob Mann says Maginnis will be sorely missed.

Jindal and other governors visit with the President

Governor Bobby Jindal along with governors from across the country will meet with President Barack Obama in Washington D-C today. LSU Professor Bob Mann, who also served as former governor Kathleen Blanco's communications director, says the President will not be the only one talking during this annual gathering.
