Law enforcement around the state are teaming up in the Buckle Up in your Truck campaign to make sure pickup truck drivers are wearing their seatbelts. Starting today and lasting until next Thursday, expect to see an abundance of police officers looking for passengers in pickup trucks that are not buckled up.

The Buckle Up in Your Truck campaign begins today in Louisiana. Executive Director of the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, John Leblanc says drivers of pickup trucks use their seatbelts less often than drivers of other vehicles.

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission begins their "Buckle Up in Your Truck" campaign today in an effort to get more pickup drivers to use their seat belts. Executive Director Lt. Col. John LeBlanc says even though Louisiana's seat belt compliance rate rose to a record 84-percent in 2014, pickup truck drivers lag behind.
