Marvel selects Louisiana as filming location for new TV series

Filming is underway in Louisiana for a new TV series from Marvel. Louisiana Entertainment Executive Director Chris Stelly says they’re very excited to have the Marvel brand in Louisiana. He says the new show is a spinoff from a Marvel classic, The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Three cities in LA rank in top 10 for best places for movie makers

Three Louisiana cities are in the Top 10 of the best places to live and work as a moviemaker in 2016. New Orleans ranks number two, Baton Rouge comes in at number three and Shreveport-Bossier is ranked ninth.

This summer could be the biggest on record for Hollywood South

This summer might the biggest ever for Hollywood South at the Box Office. Starting this weekend with the opening of the Baton Rouge filmed Pitch Perfect 2, if you hit up the theater this summer there's a good chance you'll see a movie that was filmed in Louisiana.

Several prominent Louisiana shot films being readied for release

The new movie "Focus", featuring Will Smith, hits theaters this weekend and it's just one of many major Louisiana shot movies to be released this year.  Chris Stelly, Executive Director of Louisiana Entertainment, says "Focus" could top the box office this weekend.

New Orleans filmed "American Horror Story: Freak Show" debuts

American Horror Story: Freak Show, the FX anthology series which was shot in New Orleans, debuted on Wednesday. This season the show is about a traveling carny sideshow troupe of "mistakes of nature" as the script says.

California to increase its film tax credit; Will it impact Louisiana's film industry?

The California Legislature approved a bill that would more than triple the funding for California’s film and TV tax credit program. What impact will this have on “Hollywood South”? Executive Director of Louisiana Entertainment, Chris Stelly, does not think it will.

Emmys tonight highlight critical acclaim for shows filmed in Louisiana

Hollywood South booming in 2014

Louisiana film industry recognized on global level

Louisiana's film industry is now being recognized world wide according to Louisiana's Entertainment Executive Director. Chris Stelly says Louisiana is one of the top 5 production destinations in the world. He cites the multiple movies filmed in the state that were nominated for Golden Globe Awards.
