Not out of the woods yet when it comes to more flooding

The southwestern part of Louisiana was also hammered by the intense rains over the weekend and are experiencing tremendous flooding. Donald Jones with the National Weather Service says Lafayette, New Iberia and the Lake Arthur areas are having the biggest problems. He says the Vermillion and the Mermentau Rivers are at peak crest right now and homes continue to flood as the rivers rise.

Louisiana under threat of severe weather throughout the week

The Storm Prediction Center says much of Louisiana is under the threat for severe weather today. Donald Jones with the National Weather Service says the threat for severe weather includes rounds of heavy rainfall.

Rain likely for Louisiana for the rest of the week

Heavy showers and thunderstorms have been moving through south Louisiana since early this morning.  Flash flood watches are in effect for a large portion of south Louisiana through this evening.
