$18 million cocaine seizure in Plaquemines Parish

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office seized nearly 200 pounds of cocaine--the largest in the parish's history--after receiving an anonymous tip about several suspicious packages. Commander Eric Becnel says there is an ongoing investigation with the United States Homeland Security New Orleans office because the wrapping of the cocaine is consistent with drug trafficking.

Gretna truck driver charged with rape of 14-year-old

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office says a Gretna truck driver is charged in the rape of a 14-year-old girl.  Commander Eric Becnel says 29-year-old Peter James Wilson III arranged to meet the girl through a smartphone app last month.

Two men seriously injured in Plaquemines Parish after being stuck in drum with blades

The Plaquemine Parish Sheriff's office says they are investigating an industrial incident in which two men got trapped into some equipment which caused extensive damage to their legs. Spokesman Commander Eric Becnel says deputies responded to the scene of the accident at Daybrook Fisheries around 6pm Monday.

The FBI and the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's office is seeking the person or persons responsible for hanging a noose-like knot from a willow tree along the Mississippi River batture in Belle Chasse. The words "White Power" were also found written on the cement levee embankment. More
