Father: Wounded EBR Deputy Nick Tullier making great progress

The father of wounded East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Tullier says his son is making remarkable progress. Tullier was seriously injured during an ambush ion police n Baton Rouge in July 2016.
 
James Tullier says his son has been moved from a rehab facility in Houston to the Transitional Learning Center in Galveston, Texas, marking an important point in his recovery.

EBR Sheriff Sid Gautreaux looks back at the BR police ambush one year later

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux says the Baton Rouge police ambush a year ago today was a turning point for our community. Gautreaux says he was in Lake Charles when he received a phone call telling him his officers were shot. He says he raced back to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital where he learned three officers had lost their lives.

Cop injured in ambush sues Black Lives Matter movement for inciting violence in deadly attack

One of the officers wounded in the deadly ambush on cops in Baton Rouge last year is suing leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement. On July 17th, 2016, 29-year-old Gavin Long killed three officers and wounded three others in a targeted attack. The suit accuses Black Lives Matter of inciting violence.

Moore: Long had a disdain for officers who killed civilians

East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore gave an extensive review of what happened last July when a gunman ambushed Baton Rouge Police officers, killing three and wounding three. Moore provided the public with the shooter's suicide note. He says its clear Gavin Long came to Baton Rouge to inflict pain on police officers.

Autopsy: Law enforcement officers died of multiple gun shot wounds

The autopsy findings of the three officers killed in the police ambush by Gavin Long have been released. East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner Dr. Beau Clark says each officer’s death was ruled a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers killed in ambush are remembered as heroes

The three law enforcement officers killed in Sunday’s ambush attack in Baton Rouge are being remembered today as heroes. Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie says Office Matthew Gerald was a devoted husband and father of two and joined the Baton Rouge Police Department in March. Dabadie says Gerald also served in the Marine Corp, the Army, and served three tours in Iraq.

UPDATE: State Police say Baton Rouge shooter targeted and ambushed police

State Police believe the shooter that killed three law enforcement officers and injured three others planned his attack. Major Doug Cain say 29-year-old Gavin Long of Kansas City stationed himself along Airline Highway in Baton Rouge to inflict pain on law enforcement.

Baton Rouge cop killer explains in online posts he wanted justice for Alton Sterling

The man identified as the shooter in the tragic fatal shooting of three police officers produced social media posts that discussed the demonstrations seeking justice for the death of Alton Sterling. In a YouTube posting on July 10th Gavin Long says protesting Sterling’s death will not work and suggested violence instead.
