SEC Showdown in Omaha for CWS Finals, LSU battles Florida in best of three starting Monday

It'll be an SEC showdown in the College World Series Finals as LSU takes on conference rival Florida in a best-of-three beginning Monday night. The Tigers and Gators have already met in a series this season, with Florida taking two of three in Gainesville.

The LSU baseball team has arrived in Omaha the site of the College World Series. Head Coach Paul Mainieri says even though this team doesn’t have a lot of experience in the CWS, his players seem cool, calm and confident.

The city of Omaha is excited LSU is back in the College World Series. Tracie McPherson with Visit Omaha says they always enjoy when Tiger fans visit, because the Purple and Gold Nation love a good party. She says there is a speakeasy where fans can experience a unique time.

Several LSU baseball players will live out their childhood dreams when the Tigers take the field on Sunday night against UCLA in the College World Series.
 
Senior left fielder Raph Rhymes of Monroe has been to Omaha before as a kid, but this visit is very special.

People in Omaha are ecstatic that the LSU baseball team and purple and gold fans will be making their way back to the CWS this weekend. The Tigers are competing for the highest honor in college baseball for the first time since 2009.

The College World Series starts on Saturday and on that day LSU is expected to play U-C-L-A. Vice President of the LSU Alumni Association, Jason Ramezan, is expecting a strong showing in Omaha from Tiger Nation, even though it's a long car ride to get there and flights are not cheap either.
