Gas prices are on a sharp decline ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday

The price at the pump continues to decline. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.34 in Louisiana today, down nine cents since last week, putting prices just two cents higher than a year ago. Gas Buddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan says some gas stations in the state are selling gas below $2 per gallon.

It’s been a month since Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas, knocking out nearly 30% of the nation’s refining capacity, but motorists are now starting to see consistent declines in gas prices. That’s according to Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.

Gas prices leveling off, may drop more

After peaking over the last couple of weeks, gasoline prices appear to be leveling off, according to GasBuddy. Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy says this is good news for drivers. He says prices have peaked for the short term and are now moving back down again.

Fourth of July gas prices lowest since 2005

This year’s Fourth of July gas prices are the lowest since 2005. Senior petroleum analyst Patrick Dehaan with GasBuddy.com says prices have been sliding over the last few weeks. He says believe it or not, prices at the pump are lower now than they were on January 1.

Gas prices will continue to drop through Thanksgiving travel season

If you're planning to hit the road for the Thanksgiving Holiday, you can reduce your travel gas budget as the price at the pump continues to drop. Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com says they predict the price per gallon to drop another 5-10 before Turkey Day.

Analysts say gas prices headed down

As we begin to close out the summer driving season, the price at the pump is expected to dramatically decline. Gasbuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says gas prices in Louisiana could go down as much as ten cents a gallon or more by August.
