The Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association supports proposed changes to the state’s film tax credit program. A Senate-approved measure would place a front-end cap on the program, as opposed to the back-end cap enacted in 2015. LFEA president Robert Vosbein says the bill also reserves 10% of the available credits for Louisiana filmmakers.

Officials with Louisiana’s movie industry are excited Governor Edwards has called on Louisiana Economic Development to conduct an extensive review of the state’s film tax credit program. Executive Director of the Louisiana Film Entertainment Association, Robert Vosbein, says the governor wants to make the program work for both the state and Hollywood producers.

The new president of the Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association is eager to work with the new governor and legislature on removing or altering the current 180-million dollar cap that was put on the state’s film tax credit program this year. Robert Vosbein, CEO of the Silver Screen Group, took over for Will French and says his message to policy makers will be that thousands of jobs are at stake.
