11th life claimed by flood waters

An 11th life has been claimed by the flood waters that have ravaged south Louisiana. Five of the deaths have occurred in East Baton Rouge Parish. EBR Coroner Dr. Beau Clark says the latest victim is William Borne, who is the founder and former CEO of Amedisys. Clark says Borne was found at around 11 a.m. today.

Sentencing for Brandon Eirick scheduled for today

Sentencing is scheduled today for a Baton Rouge man who allegedly shot his girlfriend up with a fatal injection of heroin in 2013.  31-year-old Brandon Eirick pleaded guilty to negligent homicide and heroin distribution in the death of 31-year old Leah Hutchinson.

Marksville mobile home fire claims four

State Fire Marshal's officials are investigating a fire in Avoyelles Parish that has left four dead.  Fire Marshall Butch Browning says the fire occurred just before midnight Thursday night at a mobile home in Marksville.

DHH: Four children in Louisiana dead from flu this season

The state Department of Health and Hospitals says a bad influenza season in Louisiana could get even worse. The latest weekly flu report confirms two more children have died from the flu which brings the total pediatric deaths in Louisiana this flu season to four. State Immunization Director Dr. Frank Welch says the entire state is at risk.
