This past weekend’s cold front has brought even cooler temperatures to Louisiana. State Climatologist Barry Keim says it really feels like fall today.
"Minimum temperatures this morning across the state are in the 50s and 60s and high temperatures are only going to reach the mid 70s." Keim said. "It's going to be a stunningly beautiful day."

Get ready for a big change in the weather. State climatologist Barry Keim says a significant cold front is sweeping over the state today, which will usher in much colder air. He says tomorrow is expected to be cool and breezy, with temperatures dropping even more by the end of the weekend.

A front is moving through Louisiana today that’s expected to bring more fall-like temperatures. State climatologist Barry Keim says this is welcome news since temperatures have been running 10 degrees above average for the past week. But Keim says what we really need is rainfall, as drought has taken hold of Louisiana with no end in sight.

Fall weather is finally set to return to Louisiana, thanks to a cold front that will move through the state today. State climatologist Barry Keim says the cold front will also likely bring us some rain, which is much-needed given the drought-like conditions the state has been experiencing. But he says it probably won’t be enough to break out the rain boots.

We’re halfway through October, but you wouldn’t know it by the weather. State climatologist Barry Keim says we are running abnormally warm and dry this month. He says when it comes to rainfall this year, we’ve been feast or famine, and right now its famine.

Louisiana is getting a major break from the summer heat this weekend as a cold front is coming late tonight. Jonathan Brazzell with the National Weather Service says we can expect low temperatures in the middle 50s throughout the state.
