Man arrested for waiving gun at driver on I-10

A Sulphur man is behind bars after threatening a driver on I-10 with a handgun. Louisiana State Police Sgt. James Anderson says 24-year-old Matthew Savoie brandished his weapon at another motorist while driving down I-10 near Welsh.

I-10 at Texas border remains closed; LSP issues preferred alternate routes

Due to flooding from the Sabine River, I-10 at the Louisiana/Texas state line is expected to remain closed for at least a of couple days. Sgt. James Anderson with State Police encourages motorists to plan an alternate route if headed to The Lone Star State.

One killed, three injured in Jefferson Davis parish crash

One person was killed and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash last night near the Roanoke community in Jefferson Davis parish. Sgt. James Anderson with Louisiana State Police says none of the adults involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.

LSP investigates fatal officer involved shooting in Beauregard Parish

Louisiana State Police is investigating a Monday night officer involved shooting in Ragley, which is about 25 miles north of Lake Charles, that left one man and a dog dead. Sgt. James Anderson says they began looking into the incident after a request from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Funeral arrangements made for fallen Trooper Vincent

LSP: Cameron Parish Sheriff's Deputy arrested for transporting marijuana

State Police say a deputy with the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office is under arrest after being found with a large amount of marijuana in his vehicle. Sgt. James Anderson says, on I-10 in Sulphur, troopers stopped a truck driven by 28-year-old Derek Nothnagel of Lake Charles for a traffic violation.

Investigation into Jackson Parish Hospital leads to four arrests

Bomb threat closes I-210 in Lake Charles

Authorities had to close the I-210 bridge in Lake Charles on Monday morning due to a bomb threat. State Police Sgt. James Anderson says they received a call about a car on fire on the Calcasieu River bridge.
