Governor John Bel Edwards has put together a special web page to solicit public input on how to handle the state’s budget crisis. The governor’s director of communications Richard Carbo explains that the purpose of the site is to inform the public and get suggestions from citizens.

Governor Jindal unveils proposed budget for next fiscal year

The Jindal administration presented lawmakers Friday with a 25-billion dollar state budget for the fiscal year that starts July first. The governor's chief financial administrator, Kristy Nichols, says it's a responsible and balanced spending plan that doesn't raise taxes or use one-time dollars on recurring expenses.
