The Walker Police Sergeant accused of hanging a noose in the squad room has resigned. Capt. John Sharp says the resignation comes ahead of the city council meeting where the allegations against the officer would be discussed.

There have been three arrests made in the case of a noose that was found hanging at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Landry Parish. Sheriff's Office spokesman Major Eddie Thibodeaux says detectives began investigating the incident on March 7th. He says two juveniles and one 18-year-old, Judah Barber of Opelousas have been charged with,

A Walker police officer has been suspended for three days without pay after hanging a noose in the department’s squad room. Walker Police Capt. John Sharp says the makeshift noose was hung on a pipe in public view.

Arrests are anticipated in the case of a Westminster Christian Academy student who hung a noose at the school’s baseball field. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says three black boys were arguing with three white boys at the ball field last week when things escalated.

The FBI and the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's office is seeking the person or persons responsible for hanging a noose-like knot from a willow tree along the Mississippi River batture in Belle Chasse. The words "White Power" were also found written on the cement levee embankment. More
