CDC Report: LA Seniors Have an Average of 12 Healthy Years Past 65

A new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention suggests elderly persons in Louisiana are less likely to lead healthy lives. The report suggests the average person can expect only 12 years past 65 of decent health. Denise Bottcher, with AARP-Louisiana says most retired persons rely heavily on Social Security and Medicare benefits to stay healthy.
