In July, we all became Lafayette strong after a shooter entered a movie theater in the Hub City and started shooting. Two people were killed and nine others were injured. The shooter, John Russell Houser, fatally shot himself.

State Police honors those who helped Trooper Steven Vincent

Today, State Police honored the four people who rendered aid to Trooper Steven Vincent while he was critically wounded during a traffic stop in August.  Vincent was shot and killed while trying to assist a motorist with his vehicle.

Christmas ornament raises money for family of fallen trooper

An artist out of Leesville, Louisiana created a Christmas ornament to help fundraise for the family of the fallen State Trooper Steven Vincent. Owner of JillyBean Studios, Jill Leonard, says she’s raised more than $26,000 dollars so far.

Trooper Steven Vincent laid to rest this weekend

Visitation is today for fallen State Police Trooper Steven Vincent, who was killed in the line of duty earlier this week. Due to tremendous support, the location of the visitation has been moved to the Lake Charles Civic Center Rosa Heart Theater. Calcasieu Parish Police Juror Tony Stelly says he watched Vincent grow up and he will be greatly missed by everyone.

CPSO charges cop killer Kevin Daigle with murder in death of roommate

Funeral arrangements made for fallen Trooper Vincent

If the public wants to help out the family of fallen Louisiana State Police Trooper Steven Vincent, there are a couple of ways to do so. LSP Sgt. James Anderson says there are two accounts set up for the public to donate money that can assist Vincent’s widow and 9-year-old son.

This week’s fatal shooting of State Trooper Steven Vincent raises the number of on-duty officer killings to five in Louisiana in 2015. There were no on-duty officers fatally shot last year, only one in 2013 and two in 2012. So why the high number this year? Suspect in State Police murder could be connected to another homicide

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says the man accused of killing a state trooper near Lake Charles could be connected to another murder. Trooper Steven Vincent was assisting 54-year-old Kevin Daigle with a truck he'd driven into a ditch when the suspect shot him in the head.

State Police mourns the loss of Trooper Steven Vincent

The state is mourning the death of a Louisiana State Trooper who was shot in the head by a suspected impaired driver near Lake Charles. 43-year-old Steven Vincent died Monday morning. Authorities have identified as 54-year-old Kevin Daigle of Lake Charles as the suspect.

State trooper Steven Vincent passes away from gunshot wound to the head

State Police says veteran trooper Steven Vincent passed away Monday morning after being shot in the head by 54-year-old Kevin Daigle of Lake Charles, a suspected drunk driver.
State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson says Vincent came in contact with Daigle near Bell City, which is located in Calcasieu Parish. Daigle drove off the road and his pickup truck was in a ditch.
