Report finds Louisiana is 3rd for the rate of women murdered by men

Once again Louisiana ranks in the top five for the rate of women who are murdered by men. The Violence Policy Center looked at the latest data available, which is 2015, and found the rate in Louisiana is double the national average and the Bayou State has the third highest rating in the country.

Louisiana has the 10th highest black homicide victimization rate in the nation, according to the Violence Policy Center. VPC Executive Director Josh Sugarmann says these findings demonstrate that black Louisiana residents are disproportionately impacted by homicide.

VPC: Louisiana has second highest rate of women murdered by men

A new study from the Violence Policy Center finds Louisiana ranks second in the country for the rate of women who are murdered by men. VPC Legislative Director, Kristen Rand, says this is the sixth year in a row that Louisiana has made the top 10. She says that may have something to do with the state’s gun laws.

An annual study released today by The Violence Policy Center says Louisiana ranks number 4 in the nation in the rate of women who are murdered by men. The report indicates our state has ranked among the top 10 states in this category for a fifth year in a row.

Louisiana's black homicide rate fifth highest in the nation

Louisiana ranks first in gun-related deaths

According to a new report from the Violence Policy Center, Louisiana once again leads the nation in gun-related deaths.  The report states that Louisiana's gun-related death rate nearly doubles the US average.

A new study shows Louisiana ranks ninth in the country in the rate of women murdered by men. The Violence Policy Center released the report to coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. V-P-C Legislative director Kristen Rand says new policies need to be put in place to protect women from harm.
