The coveted one-day tickets to see the Rolling Stones on May 2nd at Jazzfest in New Orleans go on sale exclusively for Louisiana residents today at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Fans were allowed to start lining up at midnight in anticipation of the 10 am box office opening. Festival producer Quint Davis said he expects buyers from across the nation to snap up the online sales quickly, so this is a way for locals to get the first shot at buying tickets.
“Anyone with a valid Louisiana ID, it doesn’t have to be a driver’s license, of any kind, can go there and buy two Rolling Stones tickets before they go on sale to the public,” said Davis.
Stones fans should be ready to shell out $185 plus applicable fees per ticket. Davis says he’s unsure just how big the crowd will be, so the box office could be open beyond the normal 5 PM closing time.
“In this case, it’s either when we run out of tickets, which could be ‘any-o’clock’ or if there are still people in line and we haven’t run out of tickets, we’ll stay open past 5 o’clock,” said Davis.
Davis says fans shouldn’t be concerned about the parking situation.
“Parking garage number 5 will be opened up for free parking,” said Davis.
While only the one-day tickets for May 2nd will go on sale today, all other tickets including VIP packages will go on sale to the public Friday morning.
