A now-former Vermilion Parish deputy is out of a job and behind bars after an investigation by the special victims unit of state police. State Police Sgt. Jared Sandifer said the investigation of 42-year-old Bryan Kibodeaux of Abbeville began in late January from a tip given to law enforcement.
“They received a tip and information that he was possibly sexually abusing a child over in that area and through the course of the investigation our investigation determined that was the case,” said Sandifer.
Sandifer said Kibodeaux was arrested following the execution of a search warrant of his home and is now facing multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of a child.
“One count of first-degree rape also four counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and sexual battery, that’s four counts of each of those,” said
Sandifer said several agencies contributed to the investigation and arrest of Kibodeaux, including the suspect’s own employer.
“Even though this was one of their deputies, they actually assisted our special victims unit in this case,” said Sandifer.
