
A tough weekend in Columbia, Missouri, concluded for the 8th ranked LSU Tigers with an 11-5 loss on Sunday to the Missouri Tigers. LSU starting pitcher Eric Walker (2-3) allowed six runs over four innings and LSU didn’t get its first hit at the plate until the 6th inning.
The Tigers were missing two regular starters. LSU’s leading hitter, Zach Watson, missed his second straight game with a groin injury, and starting third baseman Chris Reid didn’t play because of a hamstring injury. The series started with starting pitcher Zack Hess injuring his groin in the first inning on Friday.
The loss drops LSU’s to 24-13 overall, 9-6 in the SEC.
The Tigers will try to get healthy quickly as they have a four-game week coming up. They’ll play the Ragin Cajuns on Tuesday night in the Wally Pontiff Junior Classic at the Shrine on Airline.
Then on Thursday, LSU will host Florida for three games starting on Thursday.
