A Shreveport man accused of shooting two people, including a police officer, on the Grambling State campus overnight is in custody. State Police Trooper Michael Reichardt says a dispute during a party held inside the school’s basketball arena led to 19-year-old Princeton Adams pulling a gun out and shooting another person multiple times.
“There were two Grambling University PD officers there on scene working the party as security and one of those officers also got shot in the leg.”
Reichardt says the officer’s injury is non-life threatening, while the other shooting victim is in serious condition at a Shreveport hospital. Reichardt says the suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting, which happened at 1:30 in the morning.
“The Lincoln Parish sheriff’s office and Grambling PD were there very quickly along with our guys. Without their help and without the work of our guys we may not have been able to catch this guy.”
Reichardt says this was just an isolated incident.
“It was never an active shooter incident and no one other than the patrons at the party were in any danger.”
