LSU will likely be the number one team in the Associated Press Top 25 poll when they visit second-ranked Alabama on November ninth. But Coach Ed Orgeron says they are not paying attention to the current rankings.
“A lot of games left to play, when the college football playoff system comes out and the poll comes out and the final one comes out and that’s the one that matters, so we are aiming towards that,” said Orgeron.
The hype is just starting to build on this potential number one versus number two match-up. Orgeron says they don’t want to give any bulletin board material for Alabama to feed on.
“I talked to our team about not winning the game on the Twitter machine, we don’t need to do any talking, you do your talking when the ball is snapped,” said Orgeron.
Orgeron says safety Grant Delpit will be available for the Alabama game, despite an ankle injury suffered in the win over Auburn.
Alabama Coach Nick Saban says Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be a game-time decision after undergoing surgery last week to correct a high ankle sprain. Saban says he’s well aware of the challenge LSU will present them.
“I know that they are a really, really good team, it’s going to take a great effort on our part and great preparation on our part to be able to our best so that we have a chance to be successful,” said Saban.
Last year, Alabama shutout LSU in Tiger Stadium. But Saban says the Tigers are completely different on offense.
“They got really good skills guy, very quarterback, good runner, and they are playing a pro-style, a lot of the same stuff that the Saints do and they are really, really good at it,” said Saban.
LSU at Alabama will kick-off at 2:30 in Tuscaloosa.
