LSU Basketball Coach Will Wade said earlier this week he’s sick of seeing his team blowing double-digit second half leads, only to see the Tigers figure out a way to win the game in the end. The players received the message. LSU built an 18-point halftime lead, withstood a bit of an Alabama run and ended up beating the Crimson Tide 90-76 on Wednesday night.
LSU got monster nights from Emmit Williams and Trendon Watford. Williams had 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Watford had 17 points and 15 boards.
Skylar Mays had 18 points and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. LSU was 19-of-20 from the free throw line. The Tigers were 51-percent from the field and only hit 3 three-pointers.
The victory runs LSU’s winning streak to nine games and they are now 7-0 in the SEC. 16-4 overall.
The Tigers will welcome Ole Miss to the PMAC on Saturday for an 11 AM tip. The Rebels are 10-10, 1-6 in the SEC. Ole Miss lost in double overtime to Auburn on Tuesday night.
