Six people have been arrested in a human trafficking sting executed by north Louisiana law enforcement. Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Davis says the arrests took place at an area hotel.
“Our folks went out on a combined human trafficking sting on Friday night and made those six arrests. They were going to be there with two johns, two prostitutes, and two pimps, if you will,” said Davis.
Three of those arrested were also hit with drug charges. Authorities recovered marijuana, meth, ecstasy, a firearm, and a vehicle. Davis says over the years the area has seen various arrests linked to prostitution, but the human trafficking factor takes the arrests to the next level.
“People might say it’s just a victimless crime. Well, when you move into the realm of human trafficking particularly, we can definitely all agree that it is not a victimless crime,” said Davis.
Davis says further charges are possible and the investigation will continue.
“Find out how deep this goes and how far this goes so that we can get anybody that is engaged in human trafficking, not only off our streets but put them in our jails where they belong so that this does not happen to anybody else,” said Davis.
