Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has tested positive for the coronavirus.
In an email sent to state Department of Justice workers, Landry says he has no symptoms and he got a coronavirus test, because he planned to meet with Vice President Mike Pence during his trip to Baton Rouge on Tuesday, but once he tested positive, he began self-isolation.
Landry says his work will go uninterrupted and he’ll continue to protect Louisiana families, freedoms, and rule of the law while in quarantine.
The prominent Republican is from Acadiana, a region of the state that’s seen a surge in cases.
