Senator Bill Cassidy (R) - Louisiana
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has tested positive for COVID-19. A press release from his office says the Republican senator was notified Wednesday night he had been exposed. Cassidy was tested Thursday and it revealed he’s positive.
A spokesperson from his office says the Senator is suffering from mild symptoms that began Thursday morning. He was in Shreveport Wednesday, visiting two hospitals including the VA medical center.
Cassidy’s office says the Senator will quarantine for 14 days and he’s notifying individuals with who he may have come into contact.
“I am strictly following the direction of our medical experts and strongly encourage others to do the same,” said Dr. Cassidy.
