LSU officials address the fan experience at Tiger Stadium this fall. Athletics Director Scott Woodward says the stadium will be at 25% capacity to accommodate social distancing and spectators will be required to wear masks. Fans are being asked not to tailgate, which Woodward says will be one of the biggest differences.
“But it’s necessary. And we can do these things responsibly, and we can play football with fans in the stands, but we just have to remember that here in Baton Rouge, we still aren’t out of the woods yet,” said
Woodward admits that spread mitigation efforts are going to have an impact on fans’ game-day experience, but they are going to try to make it as positive as possible.
“For the hardcore guys that don’t have issues and they will mask up and they will come, I think it is going to be as good of an experience as we can do for them and we are going to try like heck to make it as normal as possible,” said Woodward.
The availability of students section tickets will be downsized in proportion with the rest of the stadium, with only about 2,200 tickets available.
LSU has said that students who get tested for the coronavirus will have priority for football tickets.
