Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards
Former Governor Edwin Edwards is back home after he went to the hospital on Friday because he had difficulty breathing. His Biographer Leo Honeycutt says doctors ended up diagnosing Edwards with a common sickness.
“Last week he developed what appeared to be a sinus infection and it sort of evolved into a head cold, said Honeycutt. “Now the doctors call it Rhinovirus but that is the basis for a cold.”
While the Coronavirus pandemic is spreading rapidly, Honeycutt explained that Edwards’ hospital stay was not related to Covid-19.
“He went and was immediately tested for Covid-19 and for pneumonia and he tested negative on both those tests,” said Honeycutt.
The 93-year-old Edwards has had recent bouts with pneumonia, but Honeycutt says the Silver Fox remains a vibrant senior citizen.
“This man has more resilience than most people, he’s got more lives than a cat, he just keeps coming back and he’s stronger than ever,” said Honeycutt.
