A second body has been recovered as the search continues for 9 Seacor Power crew members that remain missing in the Gulf of Mexico. The second body was reportedly recovered 33 miles away from the capsized lift boat. Marion Cuyler, the fiancee of one of the missing men, says she’s been told the Coast Guard is trying to get inside the partially submerged vessel.
“There may have been signs that they know that there are people in there, the guy that got rescued says they’re in there.”
One of the 4 dead crew members recovered has been identified as 63-year-old boat captain David Ledet of Thibodaux. Cuyler is the fiancee of Chase Morales, who remains missing off of the coast of Port Fourchon in Lafourche Parish
“We’re trying not to think the worst, we have to keep the hope and faith alive.”
Several family members are at the Port Fourchon firehouse anxiously awaiting answers. Cuyler says they are trying to keep the faith.
“I know Chase’ mom and kids are just sick to death and I wish I could be there for them.”
Six people have been rescued.
