Suspect Israel Jermaine Williams
38-year-old Israel Jermaine Williams of Alexandria is charged with one hundred counts of first-degree rape. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tommy Carnline said law enforcement in Florida tipped off local authorities of Williams’ possible sex trafficking of a juvenile who is connected to Alexandria. Carnline said Williams was arrested last Friday.
“It’s a shame, and it’s disturbing what these people do to these young people in reference to sexual-related crimes,” said Carnline.
In addition to the one hundred counts of first-degree rape, Williams also faces two counts of molestation of a juvenile under the age of thirteen. Carnline said multiple agencies are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
“This is a very complex case, we hope we can make some more arrests,” said Carnline.
Williams is being held on a $5.4 million bond at the Rapides Parish Detention Center and Carnline said they hope he remains behind bars until trial.
“First off I don’t know anybody that could go that amount of bond, secondly I know anybody that would want to go that amount of bond with reference to those types of charges,” said Carnline.
