A Lake Charles aviation company has completed a big makeover of former President Donald Trump’s private jet. When Trump One, as the custom Boeing 757 is called, needed a fresh paint job, they turned to Landlocked Aviation, and company founder Tyson Grenzebach says they were determine that such a high profile client would get a top notch paint job.
“It really was more about achieving a high level of excellence when it comes to the paint finish. It’s without question the nicest paint job to ever leave Chennault,” he says.
Landlocked is located in Lake Charles’ Chennault Park aviation business complex. Grenzebach says his team worked for 26 days – 24 hours a day – to complete the project quickly. He says the N757AF didn’t need a full strip, prime and paint…and that made the job go a bit quicker.
“Because it was already painted and the paint was in decent condition, we opted – with the customer’s approval – to do what we call a ‘scuff, sand and paint.” And that gave us a nice base to work with.”
A YouTube video, posted by Mediapost Film & Video shows the entire process in a time lapse format; 26 days in about 4 minutes. Landlocked workers repainted the entire jet, redid the huge “TRUMP’ logo on each side and added an American flag to the plane’s tail. Grenzebach says his crew outdid themselves on Trump One…:
“We kept a group of about 40 individuals gainfully employed for the better part of a month.”
