LSU quarterback Myles Brennan has decided to end his college football career. Brennan was set to begin his sixth season at LSU and he was competing with Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier to be the starting quarterback. WWL sports director Kristian Garic says Brennan did not win the competition.
“It came down to over the weekend him being informed that he was not going to be the starting quarterback, in fact he was going to be the third-string quarterback behind Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier and Myles decided to walk away,” said Garic.
Brennan appeared in 20 games during his career. Garic says he started the first three games of the 2020 season, but suffered an injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season and then got hurt again last season.
“He got injured off the field going into last season, he had the COVID year he was the starter, after Joe Burrow after the national championship, he set some passing records along the way and then he got injured,” said Garic.
LSU opens the season September 4th versus Florida State in the Superdome and Garic has learned dual-threat QB Jayden Daniels will be the starter.
“According to the information I was given, it’s Jayden Daniels because they like his mobility, they want to take advantage of his legs,” said Garic.
