LSU will host seventh-ranked Ole Miss for a chance to take control of the SEC West this weekend. The Tigers suffered a 40-13 loss to eighth-ranked Tennessee in Tiger stadium just two weeks ago, but wide receiver Kayshon Boutte said the team needs to learn from their last game and take advantage of the opportunity.
“We got to start fast as an offense, got to focus on the little details. It’s a big game this week, another top-ten opponent. We just don’t want the same stuff to happen that happened two weeks ago.”
Boutte was a preseason All-American and projected first-round pick in the NFL draft but got off to a slow start to the season in Brian Kelly’s new system. He said it’s taken time for him and first-year transfer quarterback Jayden Daniels to build chemistry with one another, but it looks like the two are finally getting on the same page.
“We came in, we kind of talked a little bit, but as the season went on we kind of started spending more time together trying to build that bond, and I feel like it’s starting to pay off. Finally starting to get together on the field is just everything connecting.”
Kickoff in Death Valley is at 2:30.
