AARP launches an interactive mobile friendly digital tool to help Louisiana Veterans understand their healthcare options. Director of Advocacy and OutReach, Lorie Lucas says Military families can use this one stop resource to navigate new PACT Act benefits and health care options at the following website.
“AARP.org/vetshealthnavigator.” said Lucas.
Starting January 1st over 5 million Veterans will receive additional VA benefits and health services as a result of the PACT Act. Lucas says The PACT Act will help more than 5 million Veterans who were exposed to toxins during the Vietnam, and Gulf war post 9/11 eras.
“They expanded the enrollment period, they expanded some of the benefits related to toxic exposure, and illness health coverage treatment, patient outreach,” said Lucas.
Lucas says that Veterans will reap the benefits from visiting the website.
“It has all of the information that you need, it can connect you with people that can further provide an explanation of whats available and help you get enrolled in these programs,” said Lucas.
