After a Shar Pei puppy was stolen from a Lakeview home in New Orleans Monday, a $1,300 reward is being offered for its safe return. Humane Society of Louisiana Director Jeff Dorson said UNO student Scott Elston is devasted over the theft of his dog.
“Comes home to his house in disrepair things are missing, including his three-month-old adorable, emotional support puppy called Toby,” said Dorson.
Shar Peis are known for their wrinkles and blue tongues.
Dorson said unfortunately there’s not a clear image of the suspects from home security systems in the neighborhood.
“A neighbor saw three people walk outside the door with the puppy, so we’re now really concerned. More than one individual is involved. Seems like a break-in crew they seem to know what they’re doing,” said Dorson.
The Humane Society and Elston have pledged $500 each for a reward along with $300 from an anonymous donor. Artwork and electronics were also stolen from the home, but Elston’s main concern is his puppy, Toby. Dorson said the burglary happened while Elston was in class.
“The perpetrators know far more about your life than you think is going on. So, we all have to be vigilant. Please be on the lookout for this adorable puppy, Shar Pei,” said Dorson.
