Kevin Chad Camp
A second person has been arrested in connection with last weekend’s shooting death of Calvin High Softball Coach Kevin Chad Camp. Winn Sheriff Cranford Jordan says Camp’s 17-year-old son, Andrew, shot his dad during an argument and is facing a manslaughter charge. Jordan says 42-year-old Jessica Shea of Winnfield is also now facing charges.
“She was charged with obstruction of justice, and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile,” said Jordan.
Jordan says Andrew Camp was at Shea’s home before the argument he had with his dad that turned fatal.
“There was a party at Shea’s house with some juveniles prior to going home and that’s what the charges stem from,” said Jordan.
Kevin Chad Camp is described in his obituary as a dedicated husband, father, teacher and coach. Last year he led Calvin High to a Class C State Championship.
Jordan says his prayers go out to the team and the Camp family.
“In my many years of law enforcement this is one of the worst incidents that I’ve investigated.” said Jordan.
Prosecutors are looking to charge Andrew Camp as an adult.
The Calvin High Softball team was eliminated from the LHSAA playoffs on Tuesday.
