Raising Cane’s chicken fingers restaurant chain donated $125 thousand dollars plus 15 percent of their profits from 750 plus restaurants nationwide to a Maui-based homeless shelter on Thursday. Spokesperson Zach Corbin says thousands of people in Maui have supported Raising Cane’s and now their crisis is our crisis…
“We’ve got several restaurants across the island of Hawaii and one in Maui. To us, we have incredible customers and incredible crew that work at those restaurants and we felt the need to give back and really support them in their time of need.”
Corbin says the funds will be used to support people displaced and in the rebuilding efforts of the shelter’s Westside Center. He says the money will go to an organization that has done so much to serve the people of Maui…
“Ka Hale A Ke Ola, and they are an organization who is providing shelter, housing, and a variety of other resources to the people who have been directly impacted from those fires.”
The Westside Center was a 78-unit housing center in Lahaina that was completely lost as the deadliest wildfire in modern U-S history made its way across the island. Corbin says it’s Todd’s vision to give back to the communities they serve…
“This just one more opportunity for us to step up as a corporate partner to those in need and give back during their time of need for sure.”
