The Rolling Stones are coming to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Louisiana residents get the satisfaction of purchasing tickets first. Festival producer Quint Davis says Louisianans can purchase tickets at nojazzfest.com starting at 1 pm today.
“Our festival is welcome to all people but our Louisiana people they’re the ones we want to make sure are at the show. So starting at 1 o’clock through Thursday night at 10 o’clock you can get the tickets in a presale.”
Louisiana residents can snag up to six pre-sale tickets. Davis says the Stones want to play in the Big Easy. He says the festival will be the second stop on their US tour.
“They’re going to play over two hours so you’re going to hear a lot of stuff. And then they got this new album out with this song Angry that’s up in the charts so I’m sure they’re going to do that too. But if they play over two hours, man you’re going to hear everything.”
There will be a limited number of one-day tickets. After being rebooked several times, Davis says the Stones will play on Thursday, May 2nd.
“When they put out their press release, you know listed right up top it says Jazz Fest New Orleans. So that’s a thrill and they’re coming. This is a real one.”
Tickets for the general public will go on sale December 1 at 10 am. The full lineup will be released around January 15.
