The Cordish Companies has broken ground on the $270 million LIVE! Casino & Hotel in Bossier City. The casino will be built on the site of the former Diamond Jacks casino. Principal of the Cordish Companies Jon Cordish says the LIVE! Casino will be the first land-based in northwest Louisiana.
“This is going to be a game changer and set a new standard in this market and how to transform it into a true destination and regional entertainment attraction.”
The newly renovated casino will feature 47 thousand square feet of gaming space, an upscale hotel, and first-class dining and entertainment venues. President of Cordish Gaming Group Rob Norton says the casino will create 750 permanent jobs and generate over $200 million in economic benefits.
“We’re expecting to generate over 35 million dollars in the first five years for the Bossier City immediate market in tax payments from our gaming operations. Almost 170 million for the state in that same window of time.”
While LIVE! is committed to philanthropy among non-profits in the community, Bossier City Mayor Thomas Chandler believes the company will set a new standard in the tri-state area.
“The Cordish Company is a great example that it is not about ideas it is about making ideas happen. Louisiana LIVE! will be the number one entertainment destination in our state and region.”
The property is located across from Shreveport with easy access from Texas and Arkansas. The project is expected to be complete by late 2025.
