A leading beverage manufacturing, packaging, and distribution company is investing $10.4 million in a new production facility in Caddo Parish. Secretary of Louisiana Economic Development Don Pierson said Multipack Services has chosen Shreveport for their newest facility.
“We’re excited about 141 new direct jobs that will be associated with the plant. Good paying jobs, around $51,000 per year, and benefits beyond that,” said Pierson.
LED estimates the project will also add 228 new indirect jobs for a total of 69 potential new jobs in Northwest Louisiana.
Pierson said Multipack chose Shreveport because of its location and distribution characteristics. It’s centrally located within large metropolitan areas like Houston, Dallas…
“Little Rock, Jackson, New Orleans, that put Shreveport-Bossier right in the midst of the great bullseye for distribution of products,” said Pierson.
And because Multipack will be moving into an existing facility, once the south Shreveport warehouse and office space are outfitted, Pierson expects the plant to be up and running sooner, than later…
“We would anticipate that by this time next year, they’ll be well underway,” said Pierson.
To secure the project Multipack received a competitive incentives package, including a $1.5 million performance-based grant for infrastructure and building improvements contingent upon meeting investment and payroll targets.
